Chip Cunningham

Charles "Chip" Cunningham is CEO of Uncharted Outposts, a high-end travel and safari company that offers handcrafted journeys to Africa, Australia, New Zealand and the Americas. Uncharted’s client’s have been major contributors to TUSK projects, and in 2003 Chip was instrumental in setting up TUSK USA in order to expand TUSK Trust's fundraising efforts within the United States. He is passionately committed to Africa, wildlife conservation and the empowerment of indigenous communities. He and his wife Sandy bring diverse, hands-on credentials to both their company and TUSK. In the early 90’s Chip and Sandy moved to Kenya where they began their life’s pursuit and passions. They took on the restoration and operation of Ol Donyo Wuas safari camp in the Chyulu Hills of Kenya after a bush fire had burnt it to the ground. It was the perfect project, combining Chip’s safari guide and bush pilot experience with Sandy’s expertise in the hospitality industry.

Soon family responsibilities dictated a move back to the USA where Chip and Sandy partnered with the rapidly expanding company- Bush Homes of East Africa - started by Phil Osborne and based in Atlanta, Georgia USA. While in Atlanta Chip worked with the Inter-American Developmental Bank as project coordinator, developing ecotourism on indigenous lands in Central America.

As Bush Homes of East Africa expanded into Southern Africa, Australia, New Zealand and the Americas, the company evolved into Uncharted Outposts, a world-wide Safari and Travel Company dedicated to eco-conscience travel and conservation. The company moved to Santa F, NM in 2005 where Chip & Sandy are deeply involved in the community, conservation and developing a unique ecotourism project for the state of New Mexico based on their experience in Africa and around the globe.

Chip and Sandy have two children, Daisy and India, and their life and lifestyle are dedicated to sharing their knowledge of Africa and turning others on to TUSK's conservation work through out the continent.
