The application process for the Tusk Conservation Awards 2017 is now open and we would like to invite you to consider nominating any conservationist that you think deserves international recognition.
The Tusk Conservation Awards, which we established with HRH The Duke of Cambridge, are designed for anyone working in conservation in Africa and it is our goal to bring humble and dedicated conservationists the recognition they deserve.
Royal recognition for humble conservationists across Africa
With the help and support of our Royal Patron, the recipients and finalists have all benefited hugely from the recognition afforded to them by these awards. And now with your help we’d like to increase the reach of the awards and find those unsung conservation heroes working in Africa for the good of the continent, its wildlife and people.
Our 2016 Tusk Conservation Award Winners

There are generous grants given to the award winners and finalists.
Shhh... the nominations are secret!
And it’s very important that we keep it this way. There is nothing more rewarding and humbling for someone to receive the gift of being nominated for an award by their peer group - and all gifts should be kept surprises!
The deadline for pre-nomination applications is March 3rd 2017. Further details will be required by March 31st for candidates that will be submitted to the judging panel. Judging will take place in May. The Awards will be presented at the annual Tusk Conservation Awards Ceremony later in the year.
If you can think of a someone - it might be a colleague, a friend or even someone who works for another organisation - and you feel they are achieving notable conservation success and deserve recognition please download the pre nomination forms here.
We would be grateful if you could also forward this email on to any conservation related mailing lists and networks that you are part of and to which you think this may be of interest.
