Trans-Serengeti Safari

A unique private safari in support of Tusk across the remotest corners of the Serengeti with the renowned guide Jean du Plessis.

Trans-Serengeti Safari 2021

This is your chance to book a once-in-a-lifetime safari experience, walking amongst the Great Migration as they turn south, tracking wildlife on foot and learning about the lives of wildlife rangers.

During this 100km, 6 day walk in the wilderness, you will be totally immersed in the African bush, with nights spent under the stars in a small, exclusive mobile walking camp. There is simply no better way to escape lockdowns and live and breathe the natural world again. This wonderful opportunity would best suit a single group of family or friends (min. 6, max. 12) but can be offered to individuals and couples.

What is more, you can decide on the dates of your one-week safari. This exceptional safari can take place any time, subject to guide availability. Please note, we recommend travelling between the months of  September – March. Due to COVID-19, the vast savannahs of the Serengeti are empty of visitors and for the first time in decades, your group will have the opportunity to explore this beautiful landscape before the tourists come back.

The Trans-Serengeti Safari has been developed by the experienced guide and wildlife ranger Jean du Plessis and Exceptional Travel to raise vital funds for Tusk, with a donation from each guest supporting the vital work of African rangers working on the frontline of conservation throughout the pandemic.
