Oana provides an invaluable opportunity to embark on conservation led expeditions with extreme adventure travel. They are working towards tackling the challenges which threaten the natural world.
Oana expeditioners take hands-on action working on reserve management and engage in pioneering research to conserve a part of the world that has been taken over by farmland. It’s time to return the land to the wildlife and local communities to coexist in harmony. You can help them by being a part of this change.
Worldwide Experience and the Nakavango Conservation Programme
The Nakavango Conservation programme is perfect for those who are dedicated to positive action! Through making a difference, volunteers experience self-enrichment, increased self-knowledge and an unparalleled sense of fulfilment.
DAKTARI Bush School & Wildlife Orphanage is an NGO founded in 2006 with the goal of enabling local children to have a better quality of life. DAKTARI works to educate and inspire children to value their environment and stimulate community projects.
Located in the South African bush near Kruger National Park, DAKTARI provides the perfect environment for children to learn about their natural heritage. The children visit DAKTARI for 5 days to complete the teaching program and work with the animals in our wildlife orphanage. International volunteers teach the lessons and guide the children in caring for the animals.
Culsans Gap Travel
Culsans run a specific 8 week trip in Kenya twice a year, getting students behind the scenes on 3 pioneering rhino conservancies: Lewa, Borana and Il Ngwesi. It is their mission to engage and inspire the next generation, creating future conservation ambassadors.
Students spend most of their time on foot in the bush learning from nature and wildlife. Throughout the 8 weeks, they rotate through a number of different conservation based elements such as: sustainable farming, education in schools, data collection/field guide and nature training, Maasai culture and mountaineering.
The trip is a great opportunity for students to develop both their hard and soft skills in abundance while giving back to the local communities in a lasting manner. It is ideal for those interested in conservation, farming, wildlife, geography or science.
Africa and Asia Venture create volunteer opportunities for one to live and work in the developing world, to have an ‘experience for life’ and to promote global citizenship.
In turn, volunteers have a genuine opportunity to have a positive impact on a developing community.
