Tusk are delighted to announce that at last night’s (May 9) Tusk Ball we raised over £500k for our conservation projects in Africa, which we will distribute in grants before the end of the year. We are indebted to everyone who made the event at Kensington Palace possible and supported us, in particular Rory Bremner, Deborah Meaden, James Lewis, Katherine Jenkins and John Owen-Jones.

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge will host the inaugural sailing regatta The King’s Cup this summer to raise awareness and funds for eight of Their Royal Highnesses’ patronages, including Tusk.

Thank you to all our supporters who contributed to the firefighting efforts on Mount Kenya. Thanks to your generous support Tusk was able to provide £15,000 ($20,000) in emergency funding to help our project partner, Mount Kenya Trust, prevent the spread of the fire and restrict the damage.

For the past week a devastating fire has been raging across the Mount Kenya region. Fuelled by very high temperatures and winds, it has already destroyed 20,000 hectares of moorland within the mountain ecosystem. Tusk has provided $10,000 (£7,500) in emergency funding to help the Mount Kenya Trust prevent the spread of the fire and restrict the damage, but more is needed.

Earlier today, participants in Kenya entered the 20th Safaricom Marathon, hosted by Tusk and the Lewa Wildlife Conservancy, with approximately 1,200 participants registering within 1½ hours. With further runners coming from overseas, a total of 1,400 are once again expected to participate in the event, which this year will take place on Saturday 29th June.

On 23rd January 2019, over 800 guests gathered at the Cadogan Hall in central London to hear Levison Wood, the renowned British explorer, writer and photographer, recount tales from his recent Arabia expedition.

Broadcaster and naturalist Sir David Attenborough has played an unprecedented role in connecting people to the wonders of the natural world. Today at the World Economic Forum in Davos, Sir David was interviewed by Tusk’s Royal Patron Prince William about his life’s work and how he has inspired us for generations.

Tusk welcomes the UK’s Ivory Act 2018, which became law with Royal Assent today, introducing the tightest ban on ivory sales in Europe, and one of the toughest in the world.

Last night in a speech at the Tusk Conservation Awards, Tusk's Royal Patron The Duke of Cambridge paid tribute to the extraordinary men and women working tirelessly in Africa, for its people and wildlife. The Duke was accompanied by The Duchess of Cambridge to the ceremony at the historic Banqueting House in London.

Last night at the home of exploration, the Royal Geographical Society in London, conservation technologist Ted Schmitt delivered the 2018 Tusk Conservation Lecture and took us on an expedition through his innovative work combatting some of the planet's greatest conservation challenges with emerging technology solutions.
